Scalp Micropigmentation

What is SMP, and who could possibly use it?

SMP uses tiny, layered dots in black to replicate the look of a shadow on your scalp. This style, referred to as pointillism, is done to create natural-looking depth and definition.
Special equipment is used. As this is a this is a delicate procedure.
Does it look realistic?

We work to ensure the dots look like a natural hair follicle and blend in seamlessly with your complexion.

This process may be useful for people who experience all forms of hair loss. This includes folks with:

  1. cancer
  2. alopecia
  3. thinning hair
  4. male and female pattern baldness

There are 3 Phases

Phase 1

Consultation
An initial Consultation is necessary to determine the extent of the work required.
A Norwood chart is used to gage time required.
How to prepare for the for the consultation and aftercare tips:

Ensure you wash your hair thoroughly. This is remove any dead skin. Let the practitioner know if you have any skin conditions. This will affect the treatment as inflammation or dryness of the skin would not retain pigment as well as healthy skin.

Phase 2

The Treatment
  1. Shower before each treatment. You won’t be able to wash or wet your scalp (this includes sweating excessively) for four days after each appointment.
  2. Each treatment typically takes between four and five hours.
  3. How many treatments you need will depend on the amount of scalp getting SMP. Even if it’s only for a small area like a widow’s peak, look at three to four treatments are still needed for long-term retention since SMP is a process of layering color.
  4. Treatments will be scheduled a few weeks apart.

Will there be pain

When considering Scalp Micropigmentation, the most frequent concern is regarding the pain. Although a little irritable, it is nothing too painful. No doubt, some level of pain is to be expected because the treatment itself consists of a needle being pierced into your scalp to inject pigments. The level of pain also varies from person to person. Everyone has different pain tolerance depending on their pain threshold. While it does vary, it has nothing to do with your masculinity.

We can numb the area however this does not mean you will not feel anything

For the next month

For 30 days, avoid chlorinated pools, saltwater, saunas, and steam rooms.
UV rays (sunlight) are dangerous for the treated area. Therefore, make sure to apply sunscreen before going out. Use sunscreen with at least SPF 50+. For 30 days avoid getting a tan on the treated area.
Wash your scalp with fragrance-free, antibacterial soap for the first 30 days to keep it clean.
Use an exfoliating cleanser as often as possible as it removes dead cells and keeps your head looking fresh.
