CORRECTIVE SCAR TATTOOING

What is it:

Skin Coloured Tattoos to Cover Scars. This is ideal for skin that was bruised and has left a lighter or dark mark. You might have sustained an injury that left a nasty discoloured bruise. You might have undergone surgery that left you with unsightly stitch marks. We can fix most of them.
Understanding Scar Camouflage
Covering your scar with a flesh-pigmented tattoo can be referred to by many names, including scar camouflage, corrective pigment camouflage, and skin col-or tattooing just to name a few, but the most common term is scar camouflage.

This is considered a non-surgical medical procedure where a needle is inserted into the scar and deposits inks that resemble the pigment of your skin. Since skin isn’t just one solid colour, the technician uses a pointillism technique to mix and match skin tones to add variety to the skin, masking the scar. Corrective pigmentation can be used on a variety of patients, including those with scars and burns, as well as on patients with skin pigmentation disorders and stretch marks.

Phase 1

Consultation
We examine the skin area that requires repair and determine if we can assist. Based on this, we will book the procedure.

Phase 2

Mixing of pigments
We will develop several tones that would match your skin tone and do test patches recording the pigments for each tone.

Phase 3

Pigment matching
We will give this 2 weeks to settle and the client will return. We can now tell which pigment best matches their skin tone. We will then use that pigment to complete the treatment.

Phase 4

Aftercare
The aftercare process is just as important as the tattooing process if not more.
Infection should be avoided by all costs. We supply the client with aftercare products that would reduce the causes of infection and ink loss. We do encourage the client to return so we can examine the tattoo and to confirm if a retouch is required. A retouch is when ink is lost during the healing process and is quite normal.
